Eligibility Requirements
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You have a citizen service number (burgerservicenummer or bsn)
- You, your possible benefit partner, and co-occupants, aged 18 years or older, are registered at your home address in the Netherlands
- Your rent, (combined) income and capital are not too high.
- You have the nationality of an EU country, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland or Switzerland. Are you from another country? In that case, you need a valid residence permit or work permit.
How to apply
Online application:
- You need a DigID
- You need to know Dutch or have google translate on your device
- Visit: Mijn toeslagen
Setting up an appointment for making an application at a service point:
call 0800 – 0543: Tax information line for residents (free calls from the Netherlands)
Monday up to and including Thursday: 8.00 – 20.00 hours.
Friday: 8.00 – 17.00 hours.

What happens next
As long as you meet the conditions, the benefit will be paid to you each year.
However, you should notify us of any changes in your situation. Or discontinue the benefit if you are no longer entitled to it.
